This collection of statements on various themes has been put together as part of the exhibition Tune in! Austria in between propaganda and protest in the Haus der Geschichte Österreich in 2025/26.

At the centre of this exhibition is radio: a medium that brings the same message and the same mood simultaneously to private space everywhere. This opens up entirely new possibilities for reaching people and spreading news – radio has been shaping politics and society since its introduction in 1924.

Over time, radio made it possible for more and more diverse voices to be publicly heard. Street interviews opened up a new possibility to capture highly varied positions and opinions on issues.

This digital discussion forum is inspired by the “vox pop” format of street interviews. With statements kept brief, it becomes possible to hear a wide range of opinions, inviting people to reflect more deeply on issues and prompting discussion. Join the conversation!
